Hi! I’m Michael John Saiger, a PhD and game design researcher. My PhD is at the University of York and part of the EPSRC Centre for Doctoral Training in Intelligent Games and Game Intelligence (iGGi).

My research explores involvement of end-users in the design of applied games for health. My PhD research explores what is meant by ‘good’ or ‘sucessful’ participation when involving young people in the co-design of games. By establishing ‘genuine ‘good’ participation and identifying factors to impact participation in end-users, we can create solutions tailored to users requirements.

As well as my research, I have worked in digital product and games development as a designer, quality assurance consultant and user researcher, with a greater interest in the latter.

I am currently open to work. If you are looking for user research as part of academic research, or a game developer looking for informed playtesting, please get in touch (mjsaiger@outlook.com)
